COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills in Glasgow (COSCA Full Validation Achieved), SCQF Level 8

ACT Counselling Services are pleased to announce the commencement of the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills. This course fulfills the minimum entry requirements for many Diplomas in Counselling across Scotland, including our own. However, as a standalone course it is a fantastic way to enhance communication skills in general or indeed in any current role that potential participants undertake. Furthermore, the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills has the potential to change participant’s lives due to the significant self-awareness aspect that it contains.

The course will be directed by Dr Claire Monaghan. Claire is a COSCA Accredited Counselling Skills Trainer and CBT Therapist. The Course Tutors are all Qualified and Practising Therapists who are either Accredited COSCA Trainers or working towards this.

The duration of this course is 20 weeks for the day course or 40 weeks for the evening course. It contains 4 modules and each module is 5 weeks in length for the day course or 10 weeks in length for evening course. The course will be delivered from 9.30-4.30 for day course and 6pm until 9pm for evening. the dates are outlined below:

Modules focus

The content of each module focuses on 5 main areas: Theory, Practice, Self Awareness, Self in Context and Ethics. Modules 1 and 2 have been written to provide participants with a solid grounding in the Attending and Responding skills necessary to deliver Counselling Skills effectively within a beginning, Middles and Endings Structure. Modules 3 and 4 focus on the main Counselling Traditions and the theory related to each is used to heighten self-awareness. Furthermore, concepts and techniques from each tradition are integrated into the Counselling Skills Practise.
At ACT Counselling Services delivering training in Counselling is a passion for us and has been since 2005. We therefore endeavour to keep our prices as low as possible. At ACT Counselling Services we also keep our maximum number of participants to between 18 – 24. We believe that this ensures a better learning experience.

Should participants decide to leave during the duration of the course, it is expected that the course fees are paid in full or monthly instalments continue to be paid until the course fees are cleared. This will allow for a return to complete the course at a future date at no additional cost.

For this COSCA Course up to £402 funding which is deducted from the costs above, if you meet the following criteria:

– You are a resident in Scotland

– Meet the general residence conditions and

– Earn less than £25,000 per year and can provide evidence of this to SAAS.
